Marriage Advice from the Internet?

By Lydia Jansen Let me ask you a question - have you ever thought of seeking help for your marriage on the internet? I know it seems like a strange place to go when youre dealing with such a personal problem. But, thats where I finally went for help when I was desperate to save my marriage. And it worked for me! I never thought that I would need help for my marriage. I thought that the longer you knew your spouse, the better your marriage would be because there would be no surprises. Ha! (A lot I knew when I got married!) I also thought that if you knew that your spouse was the one and if you really, really loved your spouse, then your marriage would be easy. Uff da! (As we say in the north country). What was I thinking? I have to laugh now because in looking back, I was pretty clueless about what it takes for a marriage to work, or even the fact that a marriage does take work! After all, I thought our relationship was special! I thought it would never let us down because our love would see us through anything. Now, fast forward a few years, and Im sure you can guess what was happening to our marriage. It was going downhill fast. I felt like I was on a runaway train and there was nothing that I could do but watch my marriage derail. I needed help and I needed answers to save my marriage. I sure didnt feel (at first) like admitting that I needed help to my friends. It seemed to me that they had it altogether. Counselors were out of the question because of the expense. Where to go for help? It turns out that I actually found help on the internet! Of all places! But, I actually felt somewhat comfortable looking for help there because I could do it with some privacy (i.e. none of my neighbors knew what I was doing). [One word of warning though, if you are a guy, please do yourself and your wife a favor by getting a very good filter for your internet connection first. There are just too many temptations out there for you to contend with when you are innocently looking for other things.] I was surprised about the quality and quantity of martial resources on the internet. I had no idea that other people were struggling with their marriages also and had shared what worked for them through the internet. Now if you find yourself on that same runaway train, you know that there is hope of slowing it down and getting it back on track by finding out how others have saved their marriages. How To Get Your Girlfriend Back After A Breakup - Ways To Win Your Ex-Girlfriend Back

By Derek Rake Have you ever watched the romantic 80's comedy Say Anything? If so, how can you forget that poignant scene where Lloyd Dobler holds the ghetto blaster high over his head and plays Peter Gabriel's song, In Your Eyes underneath his ex girlfriend's window. You may be able to relate to Lloyd's heartbreak, but this is not the way to win back your love. Lloyd's techniques may work well in Hollywood's land of make-believe, but they have absolutely nothing to do with reality. If you want to learn how to get your girlfriend back after a breakup, you need to start using real world strategies that actually work. The most important goal for all of you men wanting to know how to get your girlfriend back after a breakup, is to ditch the whole needy act. Women aren't attracted to clingy, needy men in the first place, so they definitely will not be interested in this type of guy the second time around. Don't bother doing things many men do such as calling her up to tell her how much you miss her, sending her flowers or driving by her house. These things will just push her away. By just walking away, she may start to question why you aren't actively pursuing her. After a while, she will probably end up giving in to her urge to pull you right back. There is another surefire method you can use if you are fretting over how to get your girlfriend back after a breakup. Make her realize that she isn't the only fish in the sea. Human nature shows that everyone wants what they can't have and women are no exception to this fact. Therefore, show her that you have lots of other great options since breaking up with her. Start dating as many other women as you can and be sure she sees you with them. She will get jealous when watching you enjoying the company of other women. You can even go as far as dating her friends. You may think this would turn her off, but you will be surprised how fast she decides that she wants you back. If you want to learn more about methods like these, try connecting with a popular internet subculture of men known as the "seduction community". They will offer you more techniques and advice on methods that actually work. These men all have the same goal - to learn how to achieve better success with women. Therefore, they can be very helpful when you want to win back your ex. They can also refer you to great e-books such as Swinggcat's Real World Seduction and David DeAngelo's Double Your Dating. For all the men who are losing sleep over how to get your girlfriend back after a breakup, you can rest easy. Try acting disinterested and just walk away instead of acting needy. Show her how many other women are already interested in your company so she realizes all the other options you have besides her. Follow these steps and you will leave her no choice but to get back with you. Derek Rake's StopBreakup.info website is chock-full of deadly effective techniques which you can use to win back your ex. Yellow Page Ad Design: Got Price Shoppers?

By Charles Masterson Who in their right mind would court such a customer? But WAY too many advertisers claim to be the lowest price in town. (And remember, only one is telling the truth.) All the rest are just lying to make a sale. The thing is that customers can smell the desperation when you promise the lowest price. You employees are rarely happy to hand over bargain deal. And the look on your face as you write out the discount slip. They'll never come back again. So why DID you throw profits in trash with that policy right there with your Yellow Page ad design? But on the other hand, why would you make offers that include valuable items or services that would seem to loose profits? Because if its done in the correct spirit and attitude - the results will pay you back. Just what is the value of a 10-time customer vs. a 1-time customer? You don't need a calculator for that one. And if you contact, service, and court the customer, using up of your profits, then the ratio drops to 5 over 1 instead of 10 over 1. Or I can restate that... be the lowest price in town and make 1$. Or court your Perfect Customer with your advertising and spend money to get good ones that come back 10 times and you end up with 5 times the profits. So you spend all that extra time with promotions, giveaways, package deals, and extra services. And you end up making 5 times as much as your lazy competitor. Can you live with that? Treat your customer average and they forget you in a marketing minute. Treat each one like they matter to you and get 5 times the income as your competitors. And when you do re-make your Yellow Page ad design make a conscious decision which customer you want walking in the front door. Can't Sleep - Treating Insomnia With Chinese Medicine

By Lynn Jaffee Insomnia, or the inability to either get to sleep or stay asleep, affects almost all of us at one time or another. The impact of insomnia is far-reaching. It can be an occasional annoyance for most people.. For many, however, its a chronic problem that leaves its sufferers exhausted, irritable, and unable to handle the physical and emotional stresses of everyday life. Sleeplessness comes in many forms. For people with mild insomnia, dropping off to sleep may be a problem. Many sufferers are able to fall asleep, but wake during the night and spend the early morning hours wide-awake. In the extreme, people who are plagued by severe insomnia may be sleepless all night long. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, insomnia is considered to be a disharmony between Yin and Yang, in which the Yang of daytime is unable to enter, or change into, the Yin of the evening and nighttime hours. The principles of Yin and Yang can best be understood through the Chinese characters for each. The character for Yang was originally a pictograph representing the sunny side of the hill. It contains the radicals for mound, the sun above the horizon, and rays of light shining down from the sun. In contrast, the character for Yin contains the radicals for mound and the presence of clouds, indicating the shady side of the hill. These characters tell us a lot about the nature of Yin and Yang. The sunny side of the hill, Yang, is warmer and brighter than the shady side, Yin, which is cooler, darker and moister. Yang represents fire, is active, and moves upward and outward. Yin represents water, is calm, and moves down and inward. Most important to this discussion of sleep, however, is that Yang represents the bright and active daytime hours, and Yin represents the quieter, darker nighttime hours. During the day, Yang energy is strong, keeping us awake and alert and giving us the energy to conduct the activities necessary for each day. As the day moves into evening, the Yang energy begins to decline and turn inward, allowing us to relax and slow down. To be able to sleep, the Yang energy of the day must completely enter into the Yin aspect of the evening and nighttime hours. Therefore, normal sleep requires that the Yin and Yang energy of the body be in balance. Insomnia occurs when this balance is lost. The Heart also plays an important role in our ability to sleep. In Chinese medicine, the Heart houses the spirit, which includes all thought processes, memory, emotions and the ability to sleep. During the night, the spirit also moves into the Yin, and people become calmer, quieter, and fall asleep. When the spirit is unable to move into the Yin, or when the spirit moves into Yin but is unable to quietly stay there all night, insomnia occurs. For insomnia to occur, the spirit must be disturbed in some way. There are a variety of imbalances that may cause a disruption of the spirit. The causes of these imbalances are often related to lifestyle, which means that there are changes that we can make on our own to sleep better. Common causes of insomnia in Traditional Chinese Medicine include emotions, diet, overwork, and a weak constitution. Heat in the body is a common factor in insomnia. Heat is by nature Yang energy, which is active. Too much heat, or excess Yang, disturbs the Heart and spirit, making it difficult for Yang to transform into Yin at the end of the day, causing restlessness and irritability. There are a number of patterns, or conditions, in Traditional Chinese Medicine that can cause heat. Excess heat from an external factor, such as a fever or the flu is one form. However, an occasional fever or an attack of the flu is short-lived, and not sufficient to cause chronic insomnia. Only when heat resides in the body long-term, will it ultimately disturb the Heart and spirit enough to interfere with sleep. Heat may arise out of a deficiency of Yin energy. Remember, Yin is cool, moist and nourishing. When Yin is in short supply in the body, Yang becomes exuberant, causing heat and restlessness, disturbing the spirit and disrupting sleep. A classic example of this pattern is during menopause, when deficient heat in the form of hot flashes and night sweats accompany sleeplessness. Stagnation, especially of energy, or Qi (pronounced chee), can also be responsible for insomnia. This type of insomnia is commonly associated with emotions. Qi normally moves smoothly throughout the body. However, strong emotions, especially anger, anxiety or depression, and stress can impair the flow of Qi and cause it to stagnate. This stagnation over time turns into heat, disturbing the Heart and spirit, and causing insomnia. Frequently, people who cant sleep because their mind is running all night are suffering from Qi stagnation. The treatment of insomnia using Traditional Chinese Medicine might involve acupuncture, herbs, Tui Na (Chinese bodywork), and possibly diet therapy. If you suffer from insomnia, however, there are some changes you can make that may help you get a good nights sleep. -During the evening hours, try to move from Yang to Yin activities. For example, save exercise, studying, or physical work for earlier in the day. During the evening, quieter activities, such as reading and relaxing will help you move into Yin energy more easily. -Wait a few hours after a large meal before you try to sleep. Eating too much food before bedtime can stagnate and interfere with your sleep. -If you have trouble sleeping, avoid foods and drinks that contain caffeine for several hours before bedtime. Very spicy or heavy, greasy foods, if eaten regularly, may also cause insomnia. -If emotions are causing sleeplessness, try visualizing yourself in a favorite, calming place, or systematically relax the muscles in each part of your body. Also, taking steps to reduce the stress in your life will also help you sleep better. Lynn Jaffee is a Licensed Acupuncturist, in practice at Acupuncture in the Park in St. Louis Park , Minnesota. US Citizenship

By Ranjeeth A U.S. citizenship is a right given to a person who wants to become permanent loyalty to the United States. To become a U.S. citizen, a person can undergo a process called naturalization if he or she qualifies to do so. The process by which people from foreign countries become U.S. citizens is called naturalization. There are three steps in this process: 1. File an application.
2. Take a naturalization examination.
3. Appear for a court hearing. Naturalization gives a foreign national legal status as a new U.S. citizen. Naturalized American citizens have many rights, including the right to vote, to hold public office, to extend U.S. citizenship to their children, and to obtain visas for immediate relatives. To apply for U.S. citizenship a person must live in United States as a permanent resident for at least 5 years and not spent more than a year outside the United States. The person must physically present in the United States for at least half of the last five years. The age limit must be at least 18 years. Good moral character and knowledge of the principles of the U.S. Constitution. Weight Loss Menus-5 Important Reasons Not To Use Generic Fad Diet Menus

By Jenni Nagel How many times have you tried the latest fad generic
weight loss menus that promise the world yet leave you
frustrated, fatigued and still struggling with your weight.
Well, read on to discover why these fad diets don't work and
what you can do to boost your chances of weight loss
success. 1) First and foremost you are an individual and the way your
body responds to food is different than the next person.
This is due, in part, to your body type and metabolism. We
all have the ability to lose weight and tone up we just have
to know what works for our body and not what works for
someone else. This is why some people can lose weight on
the "one-size-fits-all" diets but most are just left
frustrated. If you are not working with your body and its
needs you will just be chasing your tail and getting
frustrated at your lack of progress. 2) The food that is set down in concrete for you to eat is
more often than not boring, tasteless and nutritionally
deficient. If it is not the right kind of food for your
metabolism, or given in the right combinations, you won't
get very far. 3) Lack of variety. The biggest reason why people fail at
diets is because they get bored with the strict food
regimens and lose motivation. Diet plans need to be full
of a variety of foods and need to be flexible to change with
you as your weight loss goals change. 4) More often than not fad weight loss menus are full of
hard-to-find or expensive food items further hampering your
motivation. Weight loss menus need to include food that is
easily accessible from your local grocery store or easily
substituted. 5) They often recommend unhealthy diet guidelines. Some
encourage no fat eating, others no carbohydrates and high
protein. All completely ignore the fact that you are an
individual and eating this way for your body type may
actually cause nutritional deficiencies and leave you
feeling flat and tired. Essential fatty acids and
carbohydrates are crucial for a healthy body and if you are
depriving your body of them on one of these fad diets then
your body will be malnourished leading to a host of
unpleasant symptoms. To achieve your weight loss goals I advise you to ditch the
fad diet books and look at getting your weight loss menus
custom developed for your body type and situation. You will see results as you start to work with your body
rather than against it. Your motivation will be high and
you will have the energy to succeed where previously you
have struggled. Its easy to create your own customised weight loss menus. Let Jenni Nagel show you how, no

Turning a Relationship Around: Commitment

By Bill White If you're struggling in a relationship one of the most straight forward things you need to look at is whether or not you or the other person is committed to the relationship. This is true in friendships, marriage, dating, partnerships in business... any relationship. You must strive for total commitment to your relationships if you want them to be successful and fulfilling. You must expect and accept no less as well. It is critical to your success and fulfillment that you take your time very seriously. Time is really the one commodity in life you can't negotiate for very much. You can regain your health, your wealth, often even a lost love, but you can't recover a single second. How many times have you wanted to really get your life in gear but said you didn't have the time? Now you'll know if you really do or not? If you have hours being wasted on things that don't serve your goals, can you blame anyone but yourself if you don't accomplish them? Honor yourself by learning to honor your time. Too Many Maybes

By Nan S. Russell Workplace decision-making often reminds me of a "Peanuts" comic strip I saw where Lucy and Charlie Brown were discussing their New Year's resolutions. "I'm going to be a changed person next year," Charlie tells Lucy. "That's a laugh," Lucy replies. "You'll be wishy-washy." "Well," Charlie says defensively, "One day I'll be wishy and the next washy." I once worked for a boss who was a master of Charlie Brown decision making. One day she'd give a "definite maybe;" the next an "indefinite perhaps." But most of the time, it was "I'll think about it and get back to you." Of course, she never did and no amount of follow-up produced an answer. I came to realize there was a black hole in her desk where decision requests were put. Usually time ran out on the issue, the opportunity passed or no-decision was rendered. Her staff felt thwarted and frustrated. Later I discovered it was just as frustrating to work with as to work for these wishy-washy maybe-people. Intertwined projects, assistance or information needed from other departments, and common company goals, mean dependence on others to accomplish our work responsibilities. Having to deal with indecisive maybe-people in a critical role or on a team means stalled progress. Maybe they're afraid to make a decision; maybe they're lazy; maybe they're overwhelmed; maybe they're incompetent; maybe they can't decide. Whatever the reason, results are reduced. Like the Scottish proverb says, "Maybe's a big book." So if you want to be winning at working, it's a book you don't want to read or to use. At least not for long. It's one thing to use think-time to make the best decision you can and another to let a decision happen by default because you never got around to making your own. In twenty years in management I learned it's better to hear a quick "no" and move on to other options, projects, or opportunities than wander in the land-of-maybe where little can be accomplished. In many workplaces "maybe" has become the diplomatic, politically correct way to say "no." So, the sooner you decide if that applies to your situation, the sooner you can move to plan B and get results. However, the problem with too many maybes is not limited to those we need decisions from. We're all decision makers no matter our role. There are teammates, clients, customers, family or friends you owe information to, responses to, decisions to. The difference in how you decide will leave its mark. Gordon Graham puts it this way, "Decision is a sharp knife that cuts clean and straight; indecision, a dull one that hacks and tears and leaves ragged edges behind it." Want to be winning at working? Cut clean. Be decisive. (c) 2005 Nan S. Russell. All rights reserved. Sign up to receive Nan's free biweekly eColumn at http://www.winningatworking.com. How I Improved My Weightloss With A Kickboxing DVD

By Yoshi Kundagawa I woke up one morning to find myself more than 30 pounds
overweight. Imagine how it feels to suddenly realize the
athletic, muscular body that you had in college is now
soft, pale, droopy and flaccid. It was a nightmare that
snuck up on me in just a few years of trying to climb
the corporate ladder. I dragged my low energy blobness to the local karate dojo
about 3 months ago. I had found their website on Google
and it was a full featured gym that taught boxing, muay
thai kickboxing, wrestling, jujitsu, and a whole bunch
of cardio and conditioning classes. I had bookmarked the
site and stared at it on my computer for weeks, lacking the
energy or determination to finally decide to lose weight. About 2 months before I joined the gym I bought a cheap
kickboxing dvd online. My computer in my home office has
a dvd player, and when the UPS man dropped it off to me 3
days later, I ripped open the envelope and put it on. This kickboxing dvd was a training program for beginners. I
was so out of shape I'm sure I was even worse than the
newest beginner, but I took a crack at it. I put on an
old pair of sweats, a Metallica tshirt and started working
out to the video. I wish I had taped that first workout, I would win the ten
grand on America's Funniest Home Videos for sure. There's
me jiggling and bouncing in my office, knocking stuff of
the shelves and bumping into my desk. My cat took off like
it had been struck by lightening. My kicks literally were
no higher than knee high. I think I lasted 15 minutes
and was sucking wind like a 1972 Datsun B210. The next day my knees hurt, my back hurt, the inside of my
thighs were aching, my shoulders and triceps were sore and
its the first time in years that I had felt that way. So
I did the kickboxing workout dvd again. And again. My
brain somehow realized that the pain meant I needed to do
the exercises. I worked out roughly 4-5 times a week for
almost 2 months and lost 7 pounds. This gave me so much
more confidence that I finally joined my gym. It's been
the best decision of my life. In total my weightloss is approaching 25 pounds. I look
completely different. All my clothes are brand new and
are much smaller. I lost 4 inches off my gut. I can see
abs hinting about coming out, perhaps next summer! My energy levels are incredible. I don't need an afternoon
nap or my 3 o'clock coffee. I make better choices now
when I go out to eat. I feel like a new man! Yoshi Kundagawa is a freelance journalist covering
the martial arts world. Too much time at his computer
eating donuts reduced him to couch potato status.
