What Do You Need to Do to Prepare for Your Job Search?

By Angela Betts The New Year is now in full swing. Is a new job on your list of resolutions? Have you given any thought to your job search? What do you need to do to prepare for an effective job search? What type of position is on the next rung of your career ladder? Do you know what qualifications will be expected in most cases for the job?
First of all, you need to know exactly what you are looking for in a job. Next you will want to review the qualifications for the job and make a list of your own qualifications. Do you have what it takes? Most important, what have you accomplished for your present and past employers that will impress a potential new employer? Keep this list handy because it will be needed to write your resume if it isnt already up-to-date.
Here is a list of five aspects of job searching which need thorough review and planning in addition to an up-to-date resume before you take off from the starting line.
1. Do your qualifications meet the requirements of the job or position you have in mind? If not, what will it take to acquire the qualifications you don't already possess? Do you need to register for classes at your local college or maybe attend a seminar or two to add to your continuing education credits? Earning a degree isnt always the finish line of your education. Many professions require continuous education in order to stay abreast of the latest skills and knowledge in a given field.
2. Have you prepared your USP or unique selling point? You will be marketing yourself at networking and social events so have your USP prepared. Remember to project a confident, positive attitude when you are asked the inevitable question, What do you do? So what if you have been laid off. You ARE still skilled and knowledgeable in a particular field and/or profession. Let it be known with your own unique selling point.
3. Have you practiced answering the questions you expect to be asked in an interview? Do your research to learn the many types of questions interviewers ask to determine if a candidate will be the right fit for their company. Dont answer the questions with answers you believe the interviewer will want to hear. Give some thought to your own values and views and answer accordingly. This way you will also be interviewing the company and be better able to determine whether or not a particular company is also a good fit for your values.
4. What salary are you striving for or expecting? Determine what you believe your expertise is worth to an employer. Be fair to yourself and to potential employers. If you arent sure what salary range to aim for, do your research using salary calculators online. Prepare your response to job postings that state a salary history is required with resume submission. This issue is best addressed with a salary range stated in your cover letter rather than a list stating the salary you received from previous employers. The range informs the potential employer how much you value your skills and knowledge without cornering you into the same low pay you may have received in a previous job.
5. Are your references aware you are planning to include them on your reference list? Call your references and make certain they are agreeable to being listed on your reference list. Give them an idea of the direction you are heading with your job search so they will have time to think about how they will respond if contacted. Receiving a call out of the blue could spring too much surprise on your references and the caller will hear it in their voice. That would not be a good thing. Dont take the chance.

Preparing yourself will boost your level of confidence and alleviate some of the stress associated with a job search. A confident person communicates more effectively with contacts which increases their odds for the position desired. Research, plan, and practice your job search or career management strategy. You will be assured you are doing all you possibly can to move ahead. Amphibious Remote Control Toys

By Nikoli Funston The remote control industry has evolved as a whole, but amphibious remote control toys have advanced in leaps and bounds. There is a lot more being offered than the old plastic boats you use to see. There have been several real vehicles that have been designed to run on both land and water. Most of these vehicles have had military functions such as the amphibious tank. There have been some experimental amphibious combination automobiles and boats, but none have enjoyed much commercial success. Where the real vehicles fall short, however, the remote control world has stepped right in to produce amphibious remote control toys. The military style vehicles such as tanks and amphibious personnel carriers have been reproduced in remote control scale models. Military reproductions are a popular classification of remote control vehicles. Since many are amphibious, this has carried over to the remote control reproductions. The combination auto and boat has also emerged as a remote control favorite. The operator can drive it right into a lake or pond and with a push of a button, the wheels retract and it becomes a power boat. What never could be completely mastered in real is possible in the Remote control Hobby. Another variation on this theme is the amphibious airplane. In this case, the seaplane has been in use almost since the beginning of aviation. The remote control models are equipped with skis in the same manner as real seaplanes and take off and land on bodies of water. Although these types of remote control toys are not as common as the land/water amphibious models, they do exist or can be built. They represent an additional challenge to the remote control flyer, but do have an advantage in that water makes a softer landing field. The damage in a crash might be reduced assuming the craft can be successfully recovered. One of the most unique of the amphibious remote control toys is the stunt vehicle. A good example is the remote control Stunt Chariot Amphibious Vehicle. This crazy example of the imagination possible in the remote control hobby is a stunt vehicle capable of doing wheelies, flips, and 360 degree donuts. With a click of a button, the wheels retract, and the Chariot turns into a powerful watercraft. It is designed so that it can deliver four cans of your favorite beverage to a friend on land or in the water. The amphibious remote control toy is yet example of how only the imagination has set limits on what can be done in the area of remote controlled vehicles. As the hobby has grown in recent years, just about any type of vehicle that really operates has been duplicated in a scaled down version for remote controlled play. Some vehicles that never quite made it or are totally impractical in full size have made their way into the hobby too. The Stunt Chariot is certainly one of these. Which is Better, Bare Root or Potted Hostas?

By Jerry Van Der Kolk The great debate. Bare Root or Potted Hostas? Which is the best choice for your average home gardener to purchase? Should you only buy potted plants or should you consider buying bare root hostas as well? Let's cover the basics. A bare root hosta is simply a piece of freshly dug plant and root material. When you dig up an existing hosta clump and divide a few eyes from this clump, you have a piece of bare root hosta. A potted hosta on the other hand, is this same bare root piece of plant material which has been transplanted into a pot. Usually a potted hosta which is actively growing is proof of a successful transplant experience. Since bare root pieces still have to endure the transplant process to survive, it is a fact you will have more transplanting success with potted hostas since they are already established. Many hosta vendors may argue this claim but I have found almost all of those who discredit this claim sell bare root hostas exclusively. So it is only natural they are "defending" their livelihood. My experience is over 20 years growing and selling hostas. I am going to reveal to you what I think is the best solution for most home gardeners. I have dealt with growing and selling both bare-root hostas and potted hostas so my revelations are based on experience. When is the last time you walked into your local garden center and purchased a bare root hosta? More than likely this has not occurred unless you walked into a specialty hosta grower who digs the plants on the spot. Why is this? I do not understand why the majority of Mail Order firms tend to ship bare root hostas. My only guess is to save on shipping costs? I think potted hostas are better for the average home gardener. Why? They offer several advantages which include no transplant shock, planting convenience and survival rates. There is little or no transplant shock when transferring a nicely rooted potted hosta into the ground. Usually a few sips of water after transplanting and you are done. Bare root hostas on the other hand endure shock since they have been cut or separated from the mother plant. The roots are usually cleaned of all soil. Does this sound natural? Each step causes more shock to the existing plant. A potted plant offers the buyer the convenience to plant when he or she has the time. Most potted hostas can last for several months if not longer in their existing pots if need be. This allows the home gardener to plant during a weekend when they have the time, not necessarily immediately upon purchase. People will argue with me but I dare say potted hostas endure better survival rates when considering the average home gardeners growing environment. I have been involved with growing acres of bare root hostas and thousands of potted hostas. I have witnessed first hand the survival rate of bare root hostas versus potted hostas. Potted hostas outperform bare root hostas any day of the week when it comes to transplanting survival rates. So next time you are looking to add some hostas to you garden just make sure they are potted! Jerry Van Der Kolk has been involved directly with the Horticulture Industry for over 20 years. He now devotes his time to growing hard-to-find hostas for hosta collectors via his popular website http://www.DirectSourceHostas.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jerry_Van_Der_Kolk http://EzineArticles.com/?Which-is-Better,-Bare-Root-or-Potted-Hostas?&id=436503 phentermine online without a prescription

What Is A Judgment Lien?

By John Nazareno A judgment lien is a court ordered lien that is placed against the home or property when the homeowner simply fails to pay a debt. This doesnt seem like a big deal, but when the homeowner has a judgment lien against his or her home and wants to sell it, the judgment lien has to be paid in full before the home or property can be sold. Judgment liens can be placed against the property for a variety of reasons such as unpaid credit card bills, utility bills, department store bills, landscaping or home improvement bills, and just about any bill that the homeowner has failed to pay in a reasonable amount of time. Any bill that can cause one to end up in court can result in a judgment lien. A judgment lien is different than a trust, in that the judgment lien holder cannot foreclose on the home or the property as trust holder can. Judgment lien holders can demand payment, but ultimately they must wait for the homeowner to sell the property before they can expect to be paid the money that they are owed according to the judgment. Luckily for the judgment lien holder, the court will typically assign an interest rate to these liens so that the lien holder is compensated for their waiting as the interest will continue to accrue until the debt is paid in full. Because the majority of people will live in their home for quite some time, the interest can make a judgment lien grow, and grow, and grow over the years so that it is quite large. Imagine what a lien of just $3,000 would grow to over the years if the interest rate were 15% annually and that would be an even bigger amount if the debt were $5,000 or $10,000! Of course, judgment liens require court action. A creditor will take the homeowner to court where the judge will determine if the homeowner does in fact owe the creditor any money. If the court decides that the creditor is owed the money, and the homeowner will not or cannot make payment, the judge will order that a judgment lien be placed against the property. The judgment lien will then be entered into land records offices for the city or county so that the home cannot be sold without repayment of the debt. Once the lien is filed with the land records office, the judgment lien is said to be attached to the property, meaning that it cannot legally be sold without paying off that lien. If the judgment lien is not listed at the land records office, then it means that the debt or lien is not legally attached to the property and does not need to be paid off to sell the home. A home or property can have numerous liens against it, which may present a problem when the home is to be sold. Fortunately, the law says that liens will be paid off in the order that they were attached to the property, meaning the first lien will be paid first, the second will be paid second, and so on. This is a law that was basically developed for when a home is foreclosed on. If a foreclosed home is auctioned it will first pay off the first lien, then the second, and the third until there is no money left to pay the debts that are still attached or associated with the home. Of course, all trusts against the house, such as mortgages and home equity loans, would be paid off before the judgment liens, so its not uncommon for these liens to simply go unpaid because there is no money remaining to pay these debts after the trusts are paid. If there is not enough money to pay for all of the judgment liens and trusts on the home or property, they are then wiped out and can no longer be collected on. Of course, the auction will usually attempt to pay for all of these debts, and they are paid for until there is no money. The reason for this is that the new owner will not be able to get any home equity loans or second mortgages with judgment liens already on the home. If there is money left over after everything is paid off, the remaining amount would go to the foreclosed homeowner as all debts are paid. You can look for judgment liens at the land records office, though you will typically not find them listed with trusts. Investors or homeowners looking to sell their home will have to look into both trusts and judgments, as they are listed in different areas. Investors can often be caught off guard when they realize how much debt is attached to the home, and sellers are often startled at old judgment liens that they had forgotten about and dont want to afford to pay off in order to sell their home. Its a good idea to go over all of this information before one bids on a home or attempts to sell it or put it on the market. Judgment liens are not something that anyone wants put against their home, but they are common enough. There comes a time for many people when they simply cannot pay a bill, and a judgment lien is ordered. Making a continued effort to pay down the debt is a great idea so that you dont acquire large interest fees in addition to the initial dollar amount of the lien. The homeowner does not have to wait until the home is sold to pay off the lien, instead they can be paid off as soon as possible. The judgment lien is simply put in place so that the home cannot be sold without the debt being paid, and when you look at it from the creditors point of view, this is a great tool to ensure that youll eventually be paid the amount you are owed in addition to an interest fee that will pay you for waiting. Putting The Spotlight On Your Business - Ideas For Corporate Theater

By J C Sum These days, corporate theater adds more to a presentation than most anything else can do. No one gives attendees a stale speaker, a basic presentation or a humdrum environment. Its all about the lights, camera and action. Interactive theater is the way to go.
- Event Solutions magazine, Feb 2002 Many businesses are looking to using corporate theater to invigorate and stimulate their audiences at trade shows, launches, conferences and networking events. Corporate theater can creatively communicate a message using devices that are not traditionally associated with the corporate arena. It can come in many different forms.
Examples of corporate theater include combining performing arts and entertainment with a relevant business message. Movement, humour, song, dance, visual effects, music and lighting are employed to highlight a message, introduce a product or create anticipation and motivation for corporate events.
Concept:Magic stages our own brand of corporate theatre in the form of Branded Entertainment for Corporate Events. Ideas for Corporate Theater For those new to this cutting edge marketing medium, here are some suggestions that you might like to consider for your next marketing event. Circus-type Acts Circus-type acts like Cirque De Soleil performers astound and captivate audiences with their amazing featsof human physical skill. By selecting acts that represent desired messages or keywords, the visual metaphors of these messages can be subtly but strongly impressed upon the audience. Hand balancing acts can represent strength, contortionists can represent flexibility and trapeze or springboard artists can represent risk management, security or teamwork. A juggler can also be used the same way to represent effective time management by juggling alarm clocks with ease. Interactive Multimedia Presentation The use of multi-media allows messages and products to be highlighted visually and audibly. A pre-taped sequence of a person who apparently talks directly to the audience coupled with the banter of a professional host can be entertaining and allows for interaction. The segment on screen need not be a pre-taped sequence but can be a live broadcast from backstage with an appropriate setting to suggest a distant place. Cooking Demonstration An entertaining cooking demonstration by an expert gourmet chef that includes tasting of food is not only appetizing but can be very effective in communicating various messages as the demo appeals to the audiences multiple senses - Sight (watching the chef in action), Sound (verbal message), Smell (aroma of food) and Taste (sampling the food). There are many parallels between how business is conducted and how a gourmet meal is prepared. Both need good ingredients to make the final product a success. Skill is needed to distribute these ingredients. The constant gathering of knowledge is important to create new ideas (dishes). Both require a certain degree of trial & error to get the perfect product. Skits Customized skits can star the company staff along with professional actors. The actors ensure that the quality of the skit is high and moves the plot along. The staff can play key characters in the skit to emphasize certain points. Seeing one of their own on stage thrills an audience and draws their attention effectively. Magic Presentation A skilled magician with a good understanding of marketing communication would be able to develop a customized presentation to highlight a message using magic. Magic is an intellectual entertainment form as it gets the audience thinking how the magic is done. Once the audience is in a thinking mode, it is easier to communicate new information interwoven with the magic. A Combination of Different Forms of Corporate Theater All these ideas suggested can also be used in a combination and not necessarily as stand alone forms of corporate theater. Feel free to mix and match to get the best result for your event. Good luck! The Meanings Behind the Colors of Roses

By Colins Smith Roses are a sign of love and friendship and by giving someone a rose you are telling them how truly special they are. There are a number of colors of roses available and each one represents a different meaning to the receiver. If you are looking to purchase roses for that special someone, but arent quite sure which color would best suit your relationship, keep reading to find out what each color represents. Red Red roses are a sign of love, beauty, courage and respect. This color represents romantic, sincere and passionate love. If you want to show your loved one that they are the love of your life, red roses are the ones to choose. Giving a single red rose to someone is a simple way to say I love you. White White roses are a sign of purity, innocence, silence and youthfulness. They are given to individuals who are shy about love and are used to tell the person how special they are. White roses can also be used in weddings as an indication of new love which is just beginning. Pink Pink roses are a sign of appreciation and are often given as a thank you. Pink flowers also represent happiness and admiration and are given to someone you love whether it be a significant other or a best friend. Yellow Yellow roses are a sign of friendship, happiness, joy and promise. Yellow roses are often given to show happiness for loved ones who are returning from a long trip or leave of absence. Orange Orange roses signify desire and enthusiasm. They can be given at a graduation or a commencement to celebrate the ending and beginning of two different phases in life. Lavender/Purple Lavender or purple roses are a sign of love at first sight. If you just meet someone and have fallen head over heals for them, show them how you feel by giving them lavender roses. Regardless of the color of roses, they represent love and friendship among many other wonderful things. Roses can be planted in your garden or kept in vases throughout your home. If you are growing roses in your garden follow this gardening tip to ensure you receive the best results possible: Pruning Your Roses Using pruning shears, trim your roses around the edges and remove any dead leaves from the plant. Cut out any dead wood, twigs or stems which are cross-growing over one another. Pruning should be done twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall) to ensure your roses are kept in top condition. Where you decide to plant your roses and the kind you choose will affect the overall appearance of your garden. Roses are quite possibly the most popular flower to show love and happiness and anyone who receives a rose for any reason should consider themselves a very lucky person. Market Research: Common Business Issues and Their Respective Research Methods

By Chris Hawkes Sizing a Market - This type of market research is designed to create an estimate of the market size (measured by units or dollar volume) that a new product is expected to garner in the marketplace. In general this is usually done for entirely new product category or anticipating the introduction of a new product that substantially changes the competitive landscape in which customers are already familiar (for example, I would suspect that the new premium chewing-gum category that has emerged in the last 18 months might have upset the conventional wisdom of analysts in that industry). Conducting this type of market research can be expensive, so the best place to start is usually by evaluating the off-the-shelf syndicated market research reports that are available for any market of a reasonable size. Sizing a market is almost always a quantitative market research study, although depending on the market specifics its possible that there might be a qualitative lead-in activity or even a qualitative follow-up to get more details on a specific portion of the market. Product Concept Development Product concept market research is typically designed to provide customer input to help product-marketing managers develop products that more directly meet the needs of the target customer. Typically there are tradeoffs involving ease of use, price, industrial design decisions and bundling options. For the product marketing manager, conducting market research allows them an opportunity to get feedback from the group who is actually going to decide whether theyll pay the bills or not, the customer. Product concept market research can be done either qualitatively or quantitatively. Generally the direction hinges on the customers familiarity with the product or changes being considered, and a terminology that is well enough understood by the potential respondents to ensure that clear communication is taking place without significant uncertainty that their definitions match what we believe them to mean. If the product category is understood, and the terminology is well enough defined, quantitative research is probably the best bet. Otherwise its likely to fall to qualitative methods to ensure a complete understanding of the concepts and to the respective reactions. Customer Profiling The intent of customer profiling market research is to create a profile of a typical customer who purchases a certain product or service. Having a complete profile of a customer can be very helpful when defining a design center to develop the next generation of a product category and to ensure that the engineers and marketers have the right person in mind as they make those decisions. Creating a customer profile often includes collecting the following: Demographics (age, title, physical city of location), Firmographics (company industry, number of employees, decision making structure around the product category being studies) and A number of questions about the particular product was purchased, how it was being used, what product it replaced, the number of people using it In many cases, customer-profiling research becomes the bible as a product development team makes decisions about what features or capabilities would be desired and which other ones would be passed over. For smaller companies conducting profiling market research is often the first type of research that a company does because its straightforward and its hard to argue with who are our customers?. Positioning Research - Positioning research is often closely related to branding market research, as its function is to understand the positioning of one product relative to another. Much larger companies actually conduct positioning research simply to understand whether or not their line logic is clear or understandable by their customers and doesnt even get into the complexity of how customers relate their product line with other companys products. This is often very interesting research because it's often the case that the positioning developed by marketing managers is sometimes different than the way customers view strengths and weaknesses of different products relative one to another. Sometimes, to the chagrin of marketing managers, the phrase perception is reality comes up over and over again in this type of research, as marketing managers realize that it takes more than words on a brochure to change customers perceptions of a products positioning. Consider whether a Jaguar holds greater status than does a Mercedes. Which car would you expect to be more comfortable? Which car would you expect to be faster? Having a portfolio buy-up strategy, which calls out the benefits of the next product, without saying derogoratory about the product just down the line, is a challenging task, but thats where positioning research really shines. Messaging Research Messaging research is very closely related to advertising research, although it tests the most basic concepts of an advertising campaign the most basic idea that is believed to be the primary motivator for a product. As an example, what do you see when you notice a Rolex advertisement? Do they tout the increased accuracy of a Rolex watch over others? Do they talk about how much more shock resistant a Rolex is than another watch? Do they talk about how much deeper in the ocean a SCUBA diver can go with a Rolex than another watch? No, they dont message on any of these points, instead when you go to their website they show handsome people directing their million dollar yachts through rough seas, they show close-ups of the meticulously detailed watches, they show brave men, obviously risking their lives, climbing to the top of a snowy, distant peak. Their messaging is about living the good life and being ready for any adventure whether youre made of that stuff or not as though having a watch that costs tens of thousands of dollars puts you just a little bit closer to intrepid. At the crux of messaging market research is, what are the few things that we should emphasize if were fortunate enough to get a few seconds of consideration from a potential customer? Messaging market research is about finding the blend of unique capabilities or attributes of our product and framing that in a way that makes sense to the people who are somewhat inclined to purchase our product. Messaging research tends to be qualitative because non-verbal communication is an enormous part of communication and many people want to be able to read the respondents as they first try to digest our schpeel. Industrial Design Industrial Design (or ID as it is more typically called) typically refers to the shape, feel and texture of a product. You could say that the ID of the RAZR phone is a big hit, big enough that other companies are quickly copying it. ID research is focused on understanding what effect the industrial design may play in the purchase of a certain category of product, and how to optimize a product's industrial design for the target audience. If we all own the same products, it appears that ID is becoming one of the fundamental ways that companies are trying to differentiate products that are otherwise quite similar. ID market research has generally considered best handled in face-to-face qualitative research (often in-depth-interviews with one person at a time). However online capabilities have increased significantly in the last several years and there is a reasonable case for conducting ID research on a web site. If youre looking for an example of how strong online capabilities have come take a look at the Audi web site where you can view their cars, pull back, zoom in, view the car from any angle just by positioning the mouse. The capabilities are available from some of the higher end online research houses. The one caveat is that people often want to feel the heft of a product to understand if its plastic, metal or wood, understand how quality the finish looks, feel the quality of moving parts. In many cases online research is capable of supplementing face-to-face methodologies and for some product categories may be able to replace it entirely. Customer Segmentation - Segmentation market research studies attempts to understand what groups of customers exist in a product category in order to more precisely target their needs or to target the needs of a more attractive group (maybe the high quality group, instead of the value driven customers). While these customers may all be purchasing the same products, because they have different perspectives, theyre responses to product changes could be entirely different, so its a good idea to understand how large your groups, or segments are, and how theyll likely respond to the changes that youre company is considering. This is a type of market research that generally ends with a large quantitative bang. Segmentation research can be quite simple understanding how customers in the Eastern part of the country dress compared to those down South, or it can involve very high-end statistical analytics that can be very costly. However, good customer segmentation can greatly improve a companies product development and target customer efforts. Channel Research - This research can take a number of forms depending on the critical business issue. Channel research can be conducted to understand how a company's channel partners are ACTUALLY behaving, as opposed to how it's believed that they're behaving. Channel research can be conducted to understand what is motivating channel partners, or to understand whether a new channel partner that is being considered would be an appropriate choice for a certain product category. This is a very broad category of possible research methods that can span from efforts such as mystery shoppers who walk through a typical customer process and report back on the experience, to price checks or product offering reports. Price Elasticity - Remember back to Economics 101. As the price of a product increases the marginal value decreases (fair disclosure - I'm not sure that I actually passed EC101) and at some price-point the customers choose an alternative product. This research is designed to understand where that point is for different types of customers. Price elasticity market research really needs to be quantitative although there are times when an initial phase of qualitative research to understand the critical features and attributes may make sense. Pricing research is also very difficult to do because theres the monopoly money syndrome people tend to make different decisions with a theoretical exercise than they do when the money comes out of their pocket. Price elasticity research really needs to be well planned becuase there are number of seemingly insignificant but very important details to make decision on. By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jasdeep_Singh] Jasdeep Singh High blood pressure is on the rise worldwide. But, doctors believe that small lifestyle changes can go a long way in preventing this silent killer. High blood pressure (BP) is one of the 10 leading health risks worldwide and causes seven million deaths a year, according to WHO report. The organsiation estimates that about one-third adults in most countries suffer from high blood pressure. By 2025, more than 1.5 billion people will have high BP and most importantly, the world's poorest countries will be the worst hit, warns US experts. The expert's warning is the result of the study based on two decades of global data. Based on the trends, the researchers believe that the prevalence of high blood pressure will increase by about 60 percent by 2025. And they expect to see it slightly more in women(30 percent) than in men(29 percent) Looking at these alarming figures, there could be a worldwide epidemic of strokes and heart attacks in the future. Here are some steps to control your Blood Pressure (BP)! . Shed those extra kilos. Cut down on calories. The more overweight you are, the more susceptible you are to high BP. . Stop smoking. Sending Direct Mail, Not Junk Mail - Quick Advice to Keep Your Investments in Cash Out of the Trash

By Jeremy Tuber If youre apprehensive about starting a direct mail campaign dont be. Direct mail, despite the low response rate percentage is still one of the best marketing and advertising initiatives out there, thats why you dont see it slowing down. When direct mail is done right, its going to give you a great return on your investment a terrific bang for you buck.
If thats true, why do you suppose there are so many business owners that are opposed to them? There could be a number of answers, but more often than not, business owners dont have a firm grasp of what is necessarily to have a successful direct mail campaign. Owners typically run just one postcard that they designed themselves and expect to be flooded with sales calls and new customers. It doesnt work that way. In order to maximize your investment in direct mail you want to keep these things in mind: test, hire a professional, be memorable, be quick, be easy to read and make a compelling offer, oh, and checkout the insider tips below: Offer something of value that prospects can take advantage of immediately Test your direct mail first! Ask several of your best customers what they think of the postcard. Avoid asking friends and family ask the people that buy from you! When you are testing, make sure you test both the title and the offer. Try different combinations of both to get the optimal mix. Youve got less than 3 seconds to get someones attention. Ask yourself am I certain that my postcard can do it? If not, hire a professional. Make sure you include a call to action. Thats what this is all about; you want your prospects to act. Give them an easy to follow, low-risk offer. Give your postcard to an 8 year old and ask them to read the postcard and then to tell you what the call to action is. If they arent sure, change your call to action. To get better results, make your offer for a limited time, add some urgency to your prospects acting. Act now!, or For a Limited Time Only. Offer a reward, free gift or discount for prospects that do act quickly. Is your postcard bold, easy to follow, interesting and uncluttered? Remember, youre competing for your prospects attention, and youre up against hundreds of other pieces of mail. If its not all of these things, hire a professional. Ask a fusion business partner to join in on the promotion. This is called co-operative advertising. If you both combine your mailing lists you have 2X the people. Note: Make sure it makes sense in the prospects mind that you are teaming up on this promotion. Keep in mind that postcards with stamps get read more often than metered mail. Personalize the artwork as much as possible. Remember that people love it when they can relate to what you are saying. Remember that repetition works on people. I said, repetition works on people. In order to start seeing returns on your investment, plan on sending out at least 3-6 mail pieces. Think about including a PS in your message. The PS is one, if not the most read items in a postcard or letter. Using bullet points and quick sentences is always a good idea. Incorporate titles and sub titles if appropriate. Lastly, make sure you are actually offering something in your postcard. Companies all too often just put information about their business. No one cares about this, you want an offer, exciting news, an idea that youre eager to share something other than Heres our company, please come in and buy. Give people something to get excited about!
This isnt a comprehensive list, by any stretch, but itll give you a head start over your competition that might not be aware of these points at all. Youll of course want to track and analyze your results, but thats for another article. Remember: test, hire a professional, be memorable, be quick, be easy to read and make a compelling offer. Have You Thought About Switching Careers?

By Sarah Christensen Each one of us is unique, yet all of us have had to make decisions about career education and our futures. If you are reading this, you have probably already made that decision at least once in your life. Maybe you made the right decision, but feel you should now have a management position. Maybe you feel you made the wrong decision, but you are concerned about a career change in mid life. So what are the alternatives? Career Training Some people are concerned about the cost of career training, or the amount of time it takes. Some might argue that you have to work for anything worth having, "no pain, no gain" as they say! Think of it more as an investment in your future. Either you can continue being unhappy and unappreciated, or you can opt for career education. Likewise, if you are stuck in a job that you dislike, now is the time to think seriously about career change and what you need to do to achieve that. Think about creating your own luck or career opportunity (call it what you will). Look at the options for investing a little time and money in your) future. What Types of Career education are Available? Everybody has their own personal set of circumstances you may be financially rich, but time poor. You may be concentrating on bringing up a young family and are short on time and funds. There are different career training courses to suit different levels of resources. Some programs are intensive, designed to fast-track students from one profession to another. Others are part time, and online, these are probably the most economical in terms of finances and scheduling. You can study as and when you have the time and money. There are, of course, options between these two extremes. Sarah Christensen is a freelance writer who contributes to Find a Degree now

Quickly Make Your Life Easier By Recognizing The Many Uses Of Aluminum

By Tim Gorman If you asked 100 consumers what aluminum products they use, about, 95% will say aluminum foil. Of all the uses for aluminum. Aluminum foil is identified as the number one product that consumers can identify as something made of aluminum. Everyone uses those thin shiny paper sheets to line their ovens and barbecue grills. Aluminum foil is the product of choice to wrap up leftovers. Aluminum cans were the second most identified consumer product as having an aluminum composition. But there are other uses for aluminum that impact our life and our pocketbooks. These product make our lives easier and more productive and help reduce the costs for goods and services. Some typical applications for aluminum include siding for residential homes and commercial buildings. Aluminum is widely used in the transportation industry for cars, airplanes and railroad cars. Herein lies a potential problem for consumers. Aluminum because of its characteristics of strength, being light weight and malleable reduces the weight of cars. The Aluminum Association reports that In 2000, transportation accounted for 32.5 percent of all US shipments. That same year aluminum passed
plastic--with average content of 257 lbs per vehicle to become the third most-used material in automobiles. Car manufacturers have a goal of designing light weight, fuel efficient cars. Aluminum seems to fit this requirement. Aluminum is not only being used for door panels but manufacturers are extending
The use of aluminum to the structural make up of the car's power train suspension components and body parts. The Wall Street Journal reported July 22, 2004. These lighter metals like boron, steel and aluminum
are increasingly showing up as structural components, but unlike steel, they cannot easily be bent back
into shape after a crash. Instead, said the Journal, these components often get replaced, boosting repair costs. High end cars like the Jaguar XJ use aluminum in the body. Other cars that are use aluminum extensively include: * Audi A8, with its aluminum body, aluminum front and rear axle, and numerous other aluminum components *The Honda Insight with its aluminum monocoque body and an aluminum alloy in-line 3 cylinder engine *The Lincoln LS, featuring a sheet aluminum hood, deck lid and front fender, and forged aluminum wheels. Automakers are increasingly choosing aluminum to improve fuel economy, reduce emissions and enhance vehicle performance. The trade off for this advanced technology will be a disposable cars Pete, a mechanic in San Jose, CA states "The parts and materials for these "aluminum intensive cars are so expensive that is makes more sense to total them out for parts. The technology for replacing
the parts hasn't caught up. These cars are almost impossible to repair because of the way they are
built. A minor accident can cause real damage." These aluminum intensive cars will also have an impact on car insurance rates. More often than not when these cars are involved in an accident, the insurance company will have to consider them totaled so your insurance bill will increase. So what is the trade-off - fuel efficiency versus high cost of repair and maintenance.? Do we need ugly heavy cars that increase gas consumption? The non-disposable car may look bland, be slower and use gas But the real truth is this car would not sell. Can You Be Your Own Doctor?

By Victor Shayne Natural health care is an ancient idea. It is the first kind of health care system known to humankind. Primitive people had no doctors until they began to form social systems. From there, medicine men and medicine women, steeped in mythological lore, used herbs, foods, water, mud and other natural substances as the basis of their healing modalities. They also infused this practice with dance, music and a lot of ritual as a means of wholistic healing by bridging the mind-body gap. As we all know, primitive forms of healing, along with the evolution of mankind and scientific discovery, eventually evolved into what we have today as the most widely accepted and politically preferred standard of healing, known as allopathic medicine.Certainly, the idea of natural health care, even when allopathic medicine was at its zenith, never disappeared. There have always been natural healers, whether we're talking about naturopaths and nutritionists or grandma and her chicken soup. However, allopathic medicine has failed us as a society. Driven by excessive greed, power, and beset with a close-minded attitude and never-ending side effects and complications, we've come to realize that modern medicine is not a panacea. Instead of being the first choice in health care, it should be the option when other, more sensible, options have been exhausted. Millions of people, and maybe you are among the enlightened numbers, have realized that natural health care works; there are far fewer risks, very few side effects and most of all, the power to heal is in your own hands (and in your own body). There is also a realization that, as smart as scientists are, they just cannot recreate life or duplicate or improve upon Nature. It has long been said, "Only God can make a tree." Regardless of whether you take this as literal or figurative, the bottom line is that the power of healing, as a force of nature, is no match for the limited mind and machines of man. One of the biggest impediments to getting well, if you're unfortunate enough to be sick or suffering from a health problem, is the mindset that you do not have the power to bring about your own healing. Westernized society has become brainwashed, in a way, into thinking that the response to any health problem should be a rush to the nearest medical doctor. How could we not become brainwashed, when everywhere we turn we're faced with the command 'consult your doctor'? And we are told thousands of times throughout the course of our lives that drugs are used for health problems. A lie has become truth to most everyone. That is best revealed when individuals cannot even understand the possibility that something cannot be correct. As common citizens, we can't get drugs without a doctor. So it seems that healing is out of your hands. But it's not. We can return to Nature for healing. Even though we are told otherwise by drug companies and doctors, natural health care worked when mankind lived in caves and discovered fire, and it still works today. It works even better today because, thanks to the advances of science which gives us an understanding of HOW nature heals, and which natural substances, foods and herbs are most effective due to their properties and constituents. Now, to answer the basic question: Can you be your own doctor? The answer is yes, to a degree. In fact, you already are. Each time you recognize that you are ill, you've made a diagnosis. Each time you sleep because you're tired, you've prescribed for yourself a remedy. And like any other doctor, if your problem is beyond your expertise you can go to another doctor. But the first stages of healing begin with you; and many times they can end with you. The more you learn about the healing power of foods and the benefits of eating a whole, pure foods diet, the more power you will have over your own state of health. Perhaps the most important aspect of natural health care is the notion of prevention. What you do today in terms of taking care of your body will result in fewer health problems in the future. There is nothing modern medicine can offer you in this regard. Modern medicine is reactive, coming into play when illness is already affecting your state of health. Prevention is a proactive practice, a means of taking responsibility for your health today so that tomorrow you will be healthy; prevention is an insurance policy of your own device. The foundation of all good health is basic: real, pure food, clean water and air, a peaceful mind and exercise. If you can maintain these basics, then you are your own best doctor. Mortgage Early Payoff Schemes And The Risks Involved

By Jeremiah Williams Some lenders come up with innumerable plans that enable you to pay off your loans faster. There are ways to do so, but there may also be certain loopholes for which you have to be alert. Always check all the terms and conditions before getting into any of these schemes. Some of the factors that you should pay special attention to at this stage in order to avoid any further loopholes are: Cost of the program: This includes the entire cost for the counseling, advising and whatever else is included in the passage. You should clarify if the charges are only for the information given, if the money is a one time payment or has to be paid every month and if there are any hidden costs involved later. Determine whether the program is worth it by comparing the entire cost of the service and the loan amount. You dont want to be paying an exorbitant amount for a meager loan. Is there any software involved in the program? If the service insists on you using a software, some of the questions you should ask yourself are: Are you comfortable entering the figures into a software or do you prefer a normal sheet with columns drawn? Do you really need to purchase th software or will it be leased to you till you pay off the loan? How tedious is the procedure of entering the information? Can you abandon the software and pay off your loan faster? If you are paying for the software in installments, what is the period required to pay the loan and the costs therefore involved for the software alone. Sometimes these services only employ software to appear more sophisticated and advanced but you should realize that the same calculations can be done on a spreadsheet using a pencil. There are also many such calculators available for free on the internet. Commission involved in selling the program This is especially appealing to those involved in sales or those with a large circle of friends. Firstly, you need to be sure that this is not of any problem to th parent company. If you are absolutely aware of the software intricacies and impressed with the company presentation, you could sell the program part time. However you need to ensure that you have sufficient time to spare in addition to earning as much to pay off your loan. Ways to Excel In Dental School

By Catherine Zandueta Dental school is a four year process that involves nonstop learning. Here are a few ways that can help you excel in your studies. Be sure that becoming a dentist is what you desire. Dental school is a very rigorous journey not unlike going through medical school. The first year can be a shock. Learning about dentistry is like learning a new language. You must buckle down and focus on adjusting to new vocabulary, terms and theories. If youre not sure if you want to become a dentist then there is no point in going through the motions. Adjusting to learning dentistry takes more than superior academic ability. It takes genuine interest. If youre rock solid about your decision to become a dentist then the best advice for excelling in dental school is to manage your study time well. This seems like a no-brainer but sometimes the most obvious advice is the one that is easily pushed aside. Find the most effective ways for you to study. Some people like to block out their time. After classes and before they go to sleep they will spend four or five hours studying. If you have a problem concentrating after two or so hours then change your study habits. Spend an hour each morning on your studies, a couple of hours after lunch, and maybe another two hours in the evening. Find what works for you. Get involved in extracurricular activities. Dental school is not your whole life. Find time to have a little fun. Spend time with friends or join a volunteer program. This will help balance your life and will actually improve your grades. Spending your whole life studying can start to become stale. You need to be refreshed when you hit the books so go out and have fun. Be sure to eat well and exercise. Get a tutor if youre falling behind. Not everyone can be great in all aspects of dental school. There are so many different classes, lectures and lab time that you cannot excel in every one of them. If you need some help in a subject, the smart way to go is finding a tutor. Take control of your grades before its too late. A tutor will help you better grasp the material learned in class and can also provide advice on how to cope with life in dental school. They can tell you the best teachers, the hardest instructors and the easiest ways to study. Take advantage of peer tutors. Another way to excel in dental school is to prepare well for your Board Exams and Clinical Exam. You will take your first Board Exam after your second year of dental school and in the fourth year you will sit for your second Board Exam as well as your Clinical Exam. These are the most important parts of dental school because passing the exams allows you to graduate and begin practicing dentistry. Needless to say, you must study well for these exams. They will be a culmination of everything you have learned through your years in dental school. Be sure you feel prepared. Have a good nights sleep and eat before you take the exams. These exams can last for many hours so gear up for a marathon. Pretty soon all your hard work will pay off and you can finally practice dentistry or go on into a residency program. The skills you learned to help you excel in dental school are lifelong lessons that can be applied to any facet of your life. Unsecured Loans: Route to Finance in the Absence of Guarantee

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Peter_Taylor]Peter Taylor Does yours being a tenant or a homeowner with insufficient equity imply that loans and other methods of financing cash-shortages are not meant for you. Loan providers do not reveal such stark indifferences towards borrowers who come for unsecured loans. However, the terms on which unsecured loans are offered clearly show the apathy on the part of loan providers. Unsecured loans are personal loans where lender lends money without any direct stake on any asset of the borrower. This is the peculiarity of unsecured loans. It was this feature of unsecured loans, i.e. not having any direct stake, that was preferred most by borrowers. When seen in comparison to secured loans, the unsecured loans appeared a much better method of drawing finance because the borrowers assets were safe in this arrangement. When unsecured loan does not consume the equity in home, the equity can be utilised for getting finance through other loans. The safety of home or any collateral pledged under a loan is so prominent that borrowers would prefer to pay a higher rate of interest on an unsecured loan. Since there is no collateral to back the repayments of unsecured loan, the risk involved is much higher. The loan providers charge a higher rate of interest in order to compensate for the risk. The interest rate corresponding to the cost of inflation is more or less similar to the secured loans. However, interest rates chargeable on unsecured loans are well defined by principal banks and financial institutions. Loan providers who are charging more than this rate without any justifiable reason are only overcharging borrowers. Unsecured loans are offered against the faith induced by the borrowers through their credit report. Credit report is a list prepared by two of the most important credit reference agencies in the UK (Experian and Equifax) of all credit transactions entered into by every customer. Thus, even small debts on which payment has not been made after due date and where the creditor has complained about this to the County Courts, the borrower will have a bad remark on his credit file. A large number of defaults, County Court judgements, Individual Voluntary Arrangements, etc. will be considered as a lack of reliability. Getting unsecured loans will be a little difficult for these borrowers. The major customer group of [http://www.easyfinance4u.com/unsecured_personal_loan.html]Unsecured loans comes from the tenants and the other homeless people. Homeowners too have begun using unsecured loans in order to save them from a direct claim on home. Unemployed people constitute another big group of users of unsecured loans in the UK. Apart from interest rates and certain other terms like the making of collateral superfluous, unsecured loans are very similar to secured loans. The methods that are available for repayment of unsecured loans are similar to secured loans. The amount to be repaid will include the actual loan amount, interest for the period, and any other fees charged by the borrower. Borrower will decide how he wants to repay the whole of the amount. Paying the entire amount within a small time will save on interest cost. However, it will be difficult to arrange the amount immediately. Another method will be to pay the loan through monthly instalments. For this method, the total repayable amount is divided into the various months that constitute the term of repayment. A slight modification of the above method is where only interest is required to be paid by the borrower. The borrower pays the balance of the loan at the end of the term. Borrowers who want to have a faster sanction of the loan amount will find unsecured loans more beneficial. Since, no collateral is required to be offered in unsecured loans, the step involving valuation of the asset can be safely eliminated, thus accelerating the pace of approval. An unsecured loan does not guarantee that assets, and more specifically home, will be spared the consequences of non-payment of the amount due to the loan providers. The only difference in case of unsecured loans is that loan providers will not be able to directly stake a claim for liquidation of any asset. The loan provider will have to adopt the litigation route to recover the unpaid amount. This method can be expensive and time consuming. In cases of bankruptcy, unsecured loans are repaid only after all the secured loans have been repaid. Taking informed decisions with proper guidance from experts will ensure that unsecured loans do not become troublesome in the long run. There are many loan providers and independent financial advisors who will consider the case of borrowers properly and thus recommend proper unsecured loans. Peter Taylor is a senior financial analyst at easyfinance4u with an acumen for finance and insurance. Creating, Recognizing & Measuring Value

By George Torok Price is what you pay - value is what you get.
Warren Buffett, Chairman of Berkshire Securities Deliver value that your customers recognize, appreciate and reward. If you want your customers to value what you offer - you must demonstrate that you value them. Value implies trust so start by building trust. Always under-promise and over-deliver. Be known for keeping your promise and then some. Be honest. Never promise what you cannot deliver. Don't confuse value with cost. A product's value is almost never equal to its cost. For example, your product might cost you $2 and you sell it for $10. The value to you is $10. The value to the customer will usually be more than the selling price. If it was only worth $10 to the customer then they have no motivation to buy. But if the value to them is greater than the selling price, they are motivated to trade their money for something of greater value. It may be worth $25 to the customer. Then they will gladly give up $10 of their money for the product. The more that value exceeds the cost of the purchase, the more the customer will want to buy from you. Always offer value that is greater than the price they pay. Your challenge is to ensure the customer sees much more value than their cost. The Value Formula
How can value be so different from cost? Examine the following formula, then discover where you can concentrate your efforts to enhance value. Total value = real value + perceived value Let's take it apart to understand it. Real value comprises the tangibles. It is relatively easy to measure. Real value can be expressed in this manner: Real value = function/cost Function is what the product or service does in mechanical or analytical terms. Imagine you are buying a new car. If you are shopping for the best real value, you would get the most function efficient ground transportation for the lowest cost. You could measure the car's function factor by comparing it with the cost of your practical alternatives; public transit, car pooling, taxi, bicycle, limousine, various car models. You might wish to consider the costs of these alternatives in terms of time and inconvenience. What does your new car give you that these other modes of transportation don't? Having determined the new car's function factor, you can divide it by its cost. Is its function worth more to you than its cost? If so, the new car has real value. At the end of your analysis you would buy the cheapest car. Not necessarily. Remember that what you are willing to pay for your car is based on the total value to you, which is a factor of both real and perceived value. So, sometimes without realizing it, you assign value to less quantifiable benefits and buy something that you like. Liking is not part of real value, it is part of a product's perceived value. Perceived Value = belief x emotion Compared with real value, perceived value is more difficult to measure directly. Yet it can have greater impact on total value. Perceived value is the product of belief times emotion. It is influenced by intangibles such as image, credibility, beauty and feelings - all the benefits you should emphasize in your marketing efforts. Emphasizing your perceived value is the surest way to differentiate yourself from the competition - and gain you more profit. Perceived value is what makes a brand name more valuable than a no-name. Nike is one example of a company that built a fortune on perceived value. As individuals we think differently, perceive differently, and place different values on things. Beware of that. Use it to your advantage. When your prospect wants to negotiate price, remember to build up your product's perceived value. How can you enhance the value of what you sell? If you are only looking at the cost of paper and ink then you are forcing yourself to compete in the commodity game. Instead find ways to emphasize the value of your relationship, the creative, - the intangibles.
Always deliver real value too but compete on the perceived value. Are Alternative Medicines Effective?

By Kenneth Snodin A growing number of people have become interested in alternative medicine to treat illnesses. Alternative medicine as a practice has created a significant amount of controversy both inside and outside the traditional medical field. Alternative medicine refers to a treatment or substance that is unproven under the application or accepted scientific standards. The most common types of alternative medicine include herbs, supplements, therapies and activities that are outside traditional medical practice. Some of these raise questions about their safety and effectiveness. Acupuncture, massage, meditation, herbal tea, and plant extracts are popular among devotees of alternative medicine, but many traditional doctors believe these treatments are ineffective or even dangerous. Alternative medicine has become increasingly popular as more people face the aches, pains, and illnesses that accompany aging. In some cases, individuals have not obtained a cure with traditional medical approaches and turn to other options to treat their illness. In still other cases, people feel very strongly that natural methods of treatment are better than traditional medicine, so they look for answers from alternative practitioners instead of the family doctor. There are risks associated with alternative medicine. Some of the risks arise through the use of untested, ineffective, and even unsafe substances. The manufacturers of these substances sometimes exaggerate the claims of their effectiveness. They may misrepresent the science related to the material to convince consumers to buy the product, even if its use can endanger a persons health. Some herbal remedies are advertised as being able to improve memory, raise metabolism, or cure cancer and heart disease. In reality, the remedies may cause harm if taken at high doses. Another risk is that someone with a serious disease like cancer will not receive traditional and proven treatments, preferring to use alternative methods that may not be effective. In these cases, people are risking their lives. Sometimes, patients may be using alternative treatments, but not telling their doctors about them. This can lead to dangerous drug interactions. If a traditional doctor is unaware of the substance a patient is taking, medications that produce harmful interactions may be unknowingly prescribed. It is possible to recognize potentially risky alternative treatment. If a treatment sounds too good to be true, it probably is. While this is a clich, it is often very true in situations involving alternative medicines. Be careful of products labelled miraculous or ancient remedy. If you are thinking about treatments such as acupuncture or reflexology, check the qualifications of the practitioner before being treated. Ask about the training received, and research the treatment to determine if it has been scientifically tested and found to be effective. Its a good idea to ask your doctor about an alternative treatment you are considering. Trained medical professionals have the experience and education to help you make safe decisions about your health. SPF? What Does It All Mean?

By L. Fournier Spf or sun protection factor, is the amount of increased protection a sunscreen provides. If you are like most people, you will begin burning after 15 minutes without protection. An SPF helps protect against sunburn, and does not "stop" the tanning process completely!!! It's the burning that you want to omit, that is what causes skin damage! it's not the tan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Determine your protected sunning time by multiplying the SPF number by the amount of time it normally takes you to show signs of burning if unprotected. For example: Spf 8: 8 x 15 = 2 hours of increased protection. Spf 15: 15 x 15 = 3 3/4 hours protection. If you burn in 5 minutes (usually very sensitive skin) with an spf 15: 15 x 5 = l h 15 increased protection. Most common sunscreen ingredients are: titanium dioxide, zinc oxide and avobenzone (also called parsol 1789) and butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane. Avobenzone (also called Parsol) is less pore clogging than titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, but some people do experience irritation (rash or little red bumps) from avobenzone. Titanium Dioxide and Zinc oxide are natural products but can be more pore clogging as they sit on the skin's surface and deflect back the UV rays, rather than absorbing into the dead layer of the epidermis. A combination of Avobenzone and titanium dioxide or zinc oxide may be less clogging then td or zinc alone for some people. But in the end they all block the pores to a certain degree because of there texture. Remember the lesser the spf in your cream or lotion the less chances your skin will react!! for example an spf 8 in your cream will give you minimal to no skin irritations or pore clogging!!!
So it comes down to choose what works or is best for your skin or what you feel more comfortable with! spf 2 blocks: 50%
spf 8 blocks: 86%
spf 15 blocks: 92%
spf 30 blocks: 96% Spf 8-15: Is sufficient to give your skin ideal protection against the harmful effects of light for normal exposure to the sun like at home, at the office, in the city, day to day errands,. but the more sun you are exposed to (an entire day at the beach, for instance) the higher the SPF should be to give your skin optimal protection. Sunscreen: Is usually a cream or lotion. It is a chemical protective product works by absorbing a minimal amount of the uv rays and filtering them. Many people have allergic reactions to the chemicals in sunscreen seen as a rash... Sunblock: Is usually an opaque cream or paste. Provides a physical block that functions by reflecting rays. sunblocks contain natural minerals. Sunblock protects you by reflecting the uv rays before they penetrate your skin.
Makeup with spf in it do not offer enough protection against the sun you are better to skip those entirely and splurge on a good moisturizer with sunscreen or a sunblock. One should never go to bed with sunscreen on your face, not to mention all the chemicals that will sit there causing irritation and blocking your pores. At night your skin heals and renews itself taking in nutrients from the air and your treatment creams. The skin's optimal renewal action takes place between the hours of 10 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. this is a time to nourish the skin not block the pores......
Please wash off your sunscreens as soon as you can. Again I stress my view on spfs use - apply them when you need them do not abuse there use...... they are meant to be used when you are outside.... When you need protection from the sun especially during summer time, or whenever you are out in the open, for day to day use in the summer while doing errands, in and out of the home/car all day then an SPF 8 to 15 is sufficient... You can apply 30 when you will be outside for a longer period of time. In my opinion high spf lotions are not to be used daily all year round if you are not working outside or if you will be inside most of the day..... If you really feel the need to wear a cream with spf daily stick with the ones that have a low spf... like an spf 8 and use an spf of 30 on areas (spot treat) where you need extra protection such as discolorations spots.....
In my opinion if you are inside most of the day you do not need a cream with an spf in it!!! Best protection is to wear a hat whenever possible and stay out of the sun during the peak hours of 10/11 a.m. - 3/4 p.m. Note: If you have pigmentation spots (discoloration) and are worried about them you can spot treat them with an spf 15-30 if you wish!!! instead of putting an high spf all over the face. Did you know that Vitamin C,Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Carrot Oil and Vitamin E help support the skin's natural defences against uva/uvb!
Vitamin E protects the cells against the adverse effect of free radicals, it protects skin during sun exposure! Many studies have shown that antioxidants may be a very important strategy for preventing skin cancer.! Aloe Vera was used 1000s of years ago as an essential protection against the rays of the sun.! If you will be spending time out in the sun please always apply a sun block/sunscreen over your serums or creams containg vitamin A or C.!!!!!!!!!! My tips for this summer!! - First time you go out in the sun, go for no longer then 30 minutes - fairer skin less time and find a shade place you can go too after the initial 30 minutes then increase gradually through the summer always protecting the skin! - Go out between the times of 9-11 am and after 3-4 p.m. - Prepare the skin properly and treat the skin after being out in the sun! To prepare the skin properly apply your moisturiser under your sunscreen or sunblock, the layers help to protect the skin!
After your time in the sun wash off your sunscreen or sunblock and apply a moisturiser or product designed for after sun!! Please try and stay away from tanning beds, in my opinion they are not safe for your skin! Saving Money on Wedding Centerpieces

By Kathleen Terrana In the past, expensive floral centerpieces were common at most wedding receptions. Today, more brides are finding inexpensive, creative ways to "customize" their wedding receptions without spending a lot of money. Here are some great centerpiece suggestions. The prices quoted are from Michael's Arts and Crafts, unless otherwise noted. Candles - Arranging candles of different heights on a small mirror in the center of the table can be quite dramatic. The prices range from $1.00 to $3.00 for 3x3, 3x6, and 3x9 inch candles. Candles can also be placed inside 4" bubble/ivy/diamond ivy cut/swirl ivy glass bowls at $1.00 each. Floating candles are very romantic. A 10" bowl will cost you $7.99 and the candles range from .99 to $1.79. Flower pots - A crafty friend or bridesmaid can purchase 3" clay pots at .69 each, and paint them an elegant white or the colors of the wedding. The bride and groom's name and wedding date can also be added. Plant ivy in the pots, and you have an affordable centerpiece and a memorable wedding favor. Picture frames - You can place a grouping of your favorite pictures of the bride and groom on the table as centerpieces. Or, you can choose to have parents, family, and friends put framed pictures of their weddings on the table. Paper and pen - Put pens and decorated pieces of paper that say, "My Favorite Part of Your Wedding Was" near each setting. Collect the papers, and assemble them in a book you can read on your honeymoon, or read out loud at the reception. Vase and silk flowers - Arrange inexpensive silk flowers that match your wedding colors inside elegant cube shaped vases (3x4x6 as low as $2.49). For a mere 99 cents more, place a lace doily under each vase. For more vase ideas, check www.ikea.com. They start as low as $1.99. Themes - If the bride and groom are big NASCAR fans, love country music, or ride Harleys, use this opportunity to share this passion with family and friends. Use some of your less expensive collectible items to decorate the table. If the bride and groom belong to the military, or the groom is married in uniform, be sure to use 4 x 6" mini flags in addition to your other decorations. These affordable wedding centerpieces will be great conversation starters. Browse around your local arts and crafts store, and you will find many more ideas.
